3 yr old eastern water dragon problem

I got a water dragon ages years ago and the petshop told us he was a male.
He now is starting to get colours, so we decided to move him into the outdoor bluey enclosure.
He has started acting strange.
Whenever he is close to the two older females he puffs out his throat pouch and raises himself on his legs.
He is fine with the small blotched though.

He had escaped twice.
We are keeping him inside again untill we make the walls a bit higher.
Whats up with him?

I havnt kept adult water dragons but it sounds like he is showing off to the ladies

The two females are actually blue tongues. I think he might be defending his territory maybe
