because some thermo stats run strictly on heat matts and some do globes

It depends on what temperature you want , how big the enclosure is and what Reptile its for ;)

But um....i dont think i could really help you

"because some thermo stats run strictly on heat matts and some do globes"
have never come across that.
Run your light without a thermo and see how hot the enclosure gets.- just use a thermometer to check temp
Then if it gets up to heat you know you have the right wattage. then put a thermostat in

umm do you know on the herptrader site it varys for there thermostats you need a dimming thermostat for lights and pulse for matts mind you this is habistat

will reptaprobe thermostats go with globes??????
because im about to transfer the money to buy one from someone

who ever you are buying it off ask them for some information and they will/should tell you what they have running off it

What reptile is it for?
What size enclosure?
Where are you located? (helps to have an idea of temps in your area, ie how cold does it get o/nyt)

Basically, you should know what the temps should be for whatever reptile you have or are getting, if not search it using the search function.

Then depending on the enclosure and your location, use whatever globe you think will do.

Do a test run without the reptile in there, measuring temps.

If its too hot, lower wattage, if its not heating up enough, up the wattage............

Simple ;)
