Like the title suggests just a few headshots of our South West CP taken earlier this afternoon studio style. Was actually a pretty cooperative boy suprisingly and sat still for most of the shoot :p

Definitely the last one! Is a South West Carpet Python known by any other names? Also is that colouring typical of the species?

Cheers again :) Steve, the only other name that they go by that comes to name is just their scientific one; Morelia Spilota Imbricata, colouring in this species varies alot depending on the local, much like coastals. This little guy is Geraldton locale and the mother of this boy is a stunning example of what they can look like, which are usually alot lighter in colouration with more earthy browns. Others can be much more dark with little white, theres also a line floating around further south of the state that displays quite a blue tinge depending on the specimen.

Heres a shot of this boy taken a month or so ago, going to be interesting to see how his colours change as he gets older. Hes a year old at the moment.

Damn it! The longer I scour this site for ideas for a first snake the harder it gets - This species has totally been added to my hit list! Thanks for the info.
