its a Ctenotus species, possibly Ctenotus robustus. You can safely call it a striped skink anyway.
 
well done cris :) i just looked through my book and it seems you beat me to it lol yer hes rite its Ctenotus robustus.
 
I found one too.

I found this little guy at the front of our house then few days later at the backyard too.
Could anyone shed some light on what type it was?

spydon yours is a gecko...maybe a velvet. the skink isn't robustus...it is too small...i reckon egernia whitii
 
definately Ctenotus and most likely robusta. I'd give cris the points. If not its one of the other Ctenotus species like spaldingi.

I agree, Ctenotus robustus. I kept some Ctenotus years ago they're great lizards (attached pic of C. regius).

spydon - your little guy looks like a juvenile marbled gecko (juvs typically have orange/pinky colours on their tail which seem to fade with age), Christinus marmoratus see pic.
