Ok so I just got my first snake, a gorgeous MD by the name of Lexie, and I will admit I have caught the herp bug. Hence I have been Googling looking and planning for my next snake. Now I tend to like things that are a unique and happened upon a beautiful Amethystine Python. Now my question is... are these able to be kept as pets and if so where can more info about this/them be found?!?

Thank you and apologies again for the dumb questions!

Firstly............there is no such thing as a dumb question.......if you don't ask, you'll never know and that applies to everyone. I don't have the answer to your question, but I'm sure others here will help you.............remember.....NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION. :)

Yes, can be kept. also known as scrub python so do a search on here for them, theres been a few threads. they are BIG and can be bad tempered, not a good mix for beginners. but stunning snakes.

Good to know.... will save it for a little while then LOL!! Its on the list!

yeh can be kept but definatley only if u hav the room and experience...stunning species

Its best to measure snakes visually with some sort of measuring instrument rather than hearing the length, they are often as big as the fish that got away ;) That said i wouldnt doubt they can get much bigger than what many of the sceptics think.
