Fay,you can get outdoor heating cables,they are long and about as thick as thin electrical cable,I think they are for keeping garden beds warm.

I have heard of people wrapping glad wrap around the aviary during winter.
I can't remember if they covered the whole thing or just the top half.
Too bad if you covered the whole thing and we had a real hot day
