Very little actual research has been done on the benefits of u.v radiation in snakes......some keep them without ever being exposed to uv others run uv tubes in their enclosures......snakes in the wild have access to uv....I use uv for some of our elapids here and their seems to be a benefit but this is not based from measurements..

cheers,
Scott

My Blackheads run UV tubes for no other reason than I had to put em somewhere. My RBBS and my Diamonds and intergrades have never had tubes and I've never had a drama. Eipper, I don't know if this is true for other elapids? I can see the benefit from UV, but with a proper diet and outside exposure, I cant see the point. As for the colour factor, I don't know.

Argh, haha...

I think I have made up my mind.

No offence to anyone here,
I feel like it's the "condom factor"

I would rather have one and not need it, than need it and not have one.

Thanks for all those who had an input, once my enclosures are ready, I will be posting pics.
Wont be for a few weeks.

Thanks again.
