Beginner reptile keeper, want a Shingleback

Hi, I am very new to reptiles but i love Shingle back Lizards. I have some questions that I hope will get answered on this forum.

1. How well will shingle backs cope with the humidity in Townsville, QLD?
2. What set-up do i need? i.e. What size enclosure?, etc
3. What is easier to keep, male or female?
4. What is a healthy diet for them?

Any other information that may be of importance please tell me. Much appreciated.

when building enclosure or getting different reptile I always check this site www.environment.nsw.gov.au/wildlifelicences/ReptileCode.htm might be different in qld you'll have to check
