Hi all,
The guy I bought my bhp off said they can have problems with constapation, has anyone experienced this before, and is it from feeding them food with hair as he said that's why he feeds him pinky rabbits instead of rats.

I've never heard that before, i start mine on rat pups and move up in size as they grow, by the time they are a year old i have them on 200gr rats. I don't feed any of my snakes rats bigger than 200gr.
I've never bother with pinkie anythings with BHPs and have never had any problems.

Steve.

Depends on their size. My 9ft male eats 2 200gr rats a week.

I have heard of peoples snakes getting constipated after eating guinea pigs, they seem to have coarse hair, but very rarely with rats.

I agree with Duga, feed med sized rats, they go down easy and you won't have to worry about high fat content within a 500g+ monster
