I've never really had much to do with blueys, or know much about them at all... what are their 'personalities' like? I wish I could 'meet' some to see what they're like- you don't hear so much about these guys in comparison to beardies, for example
Well my bluey is just FULL of personality! Just as much as my beardies and water dragon, if not more! Buffy is able to communicate to you by huffing/snorting, so you can tell exactly what she's saying and thinking by her head movements, tongue flicker, eye direction and snorting.
She loves icecream (not that she gets much! Only a few licks on her birthday!) and knows McDonalds drivethrough by heart. She gets huffy with you if you dont buy her something, so you have to share your burger with her in order to be forgiven. Her favourite burger is the normal hamburger - just the meat, mind you.
She LOVES shopping, and has her very own handbag in which I take her shopping in. She sits at the top with her head out and feet on the edge, and watches everything. If she sees something she wants to look more closely at, she'll wag her tail and start huffing furiously and stare directly at whatever it is. It's usually jewelery, and Diva is her favourite shop! Target is also another favourite. When grocery shopping, she sits on her bag where you're sposed to put kids, and watches everything with avid attention. She never lets you forget that she's there, and she usually scores a few grapes when going through the produce section.
I have allergies to tropical dust mite and cat fur, which I have to have desensitizing injections for (living in the tropics and having 5 cats) every month. My specialist loves Buffy, and I take her to go and see him with me every six months. I take her with me to my normal doctors surgery every month, and they just adore her! She walks around the floor out in the back room, and my doctor gets her and cuddles her and the nurses give her pats and treats and cuddles, and show her to the other patients. They keep some jewelry there with the kids boks and toys (hanging away from the kids reach) so that when she comes in I can get it and entertain her with it.
She loves snails, but they're so expensive to buy! So I have people all around Rocky who look for them for her. When they find them, they bring them in and get to feed them to her! Oh what joy! Buffy goes literally CRAZY with delight! I also have friends in Vic and family in NSW that send them up to me in icecream containers by the hundred! But I can't keep them alive in this heat very long, so Buffy and I take them over to a friends house and share them with all of Buffy's little friends. Like Stimpy and Stumpy the Shinglebacks, whom she loves having tea parties with!
I could tell you so much more, but I'm sure you're sick of reading this! But Blueys indeed have wonderful personalities!
