Discussion with personal admin message

Good morning, I'm not sure it it is a scam but I got a message claiming to be admin asking for help to support this community.

Is anyone else getting these emails and could explain if they are from a trusted source

The account ID is #1, so it is the Forum original account, but I don't understand why they didn't make a forum announcement, instead of spamming members?

Yea I got one of these last week and a follow up one this morning? I haven’t really been on aps for a few years so I thought it was a bit weird too?

I also received 2 email's and pm's, with the same request, I've been rather absent due to life stuff so thought it even more strange.

I'm just as dubious as you, I'm leaning towards scam as this place has never done this.
Adverts are plentiful from when I first signed up, but never has there been an outright request, let alone at personal level.

Also awaiting confirmation either way.

Well you're know a supporting member according to the banner next to your name

Not a scam, it was sent by the owner of forums, web hosting is pricy. Prices go up over time, sites running on donations

You're already a supporter so either way you probably won't get asked for more support.

Well I didn't have a supporting membership badge before I paid, now I do, so I guess it's legit. This forum has been well worth the $20, maybe when joining up after 3 months or so, they could ask for a yearly membership or something.

I received these also, haven’t been on here for ages. But, so I’ve noticed, it’s not the only strange message I have had from admin lately.

Also this was not my username, I am not a new member, been on here for years, have posted quite a number of times, I can’t find anything on my account or profile
