Eastern Water Dragon Info

Hey i have reacently bought 2 juvinile eastern water dragons. I have noticed that one of them has his mouth open alot. during the night and day. I am wondering why it would be doing it??

any info would be very appreciated.

what temps are you running?

Under the basking its between 24-28 C
and of a night it its around 17-19 C

How big are they?
Can you post some pics?
Does it have discharge around its nostrils?
Appear to be breathing difficultly?
I run my basking area at 30 - 35 for mine.

i have posted a link to to a care sheet !!! just check the temps required i have mine between 28-36 degrees, lizards like it hotter than most snakes.

this is the best i could get in short notice, but it doesnt seem to have any discharage. and he doesnt seem to have trouble breathing.

RI can be caused by not having the right temps !! but there are a range of possibles !

After closer observation i have realised that when it opens its mouth only after i handle it then put it back in the tank. so its either attention seeking or thinking its hardcore..

That is a defense mechanism, acting scary because it is scared.
