I have a coastal carpet python who is about 80-90cm at the moment and is eating velvet rats.

In the store today i was talking to the sales assistant about sizing and he said something about the time it takes the snake to eat as a reference to when to eat the eat.

If less than 5 minutes to eat from nose to finish then he should be eating the size up

Is this accurate?
And how do you tell when to size up the food for you snakes ?
:) Thanks

Not really , I would weigh your snake and feed it roughly 15-20% of its bodyweight while it is growing.
