Hi All
Just hatched today - thought some might be interested in the pics.

hey ari i have beeen told by a few people that because ring tails lay hard shelled eggs you dont have to provide a humid incubation tub just incubate in nething and they will hatch. do you think this is the case also

cheers Sam

Juvenile Ring Tail was about between 5-6 cm long from snout to tails tip.
Juvenile Marmorata were both about the same.

The Ring Tails incubation period was 155 days - from 02 Feb 2006

don't all geckos produce hard shelled eggs?

Hi Jordo

Ring Tails produce hard shelled eggs. Most of the species, e.g. Nephrurus, Oedura & Strophurus produce soft shelled eggs.

Ring Tails prefer to incubate drier. And Sam yep eggs have been know to hatch in the enclosures, buried in the sand.

Problem with Ring Tails is the long incubation period & possibly diapause. Average is 90 - 200+ days I am told. These were at 155 days (5 months)
