I've been trying to get a good shot of an eastern brown snake in the 's' position, finally happened, my friend and I were driving back not even herping when we saw this snake basking on some tin, approaching close enough not to disturb the animal and take a photo we realised he had a very bad injury on his lower ventrals and side, it looked like broken rivbs and a severe infection, and being such a poor overcast day he was cold and by all means looked dead, as i approcached he reared in the 's' and fell over on his back and took quite sometime to right himself, being so sick we decided to catch him and take him to australia zoo's wildlife hospital just down the road, turns out to be lucky we did..
He has a severe infection and a wound that would have killed him for sure in wild conditions. Hope he pulls through!
