B Bluetongue1 Guest Dec 22, 2013 #3 It is Varanus gilleni – dark bands across the back and base of the tail and thin dark stripes along remainder of tail. Odds on it was shot in the wild as that looks like a bit of dead mulga it is sitting on – so yes, not Cairns. Blue
