i use sand with hatchie geckos no probs, so do all gecko breeders i know
 
oh just to add the breeder i got mine off actually recomended to only put one hid in the click clack so they can hide if they need to, but they are also kind of forced to get used to you moving around outside, it seems to have worked well, mine is pretty rlxed for a gecko

You should always give the animal the choice, particularly if there is a warm and cool end, give it a few hides at different areas so it can pick a suitable temp to sleep at (imo).
 
you could put a few branches in their for each of them. repti-cal and repti-vite are good suppliments to be dusted on insects just prior to feeding.
 
You could always use silk plants from the cheap shop in their, some look good.
 
Ive never really kept geckos so i cant say that u definatly need the supliments but you should probably have both.
 
i never dust for my gex but i use calcium powder for my dragons
 
it cant hurt, best bet is to ask geckodan or another gecko breeder
