Hi,

Just had a call from NPWS asking me 'what is a Nephrurus Levis Pilbarensis?'
They say that there is no record of this species!?

Does anyone know what the Species code is or of another scientific name they may go under?

I need to get back to them with more info before they will process my export Licence!

nephrurus levis is the Smooth Knob-tailed Gecko by their classification, it would seem they dont classify the Pilbarensis as a separate species, or deserving of separate classification?

im not entirely familiar but are pilbara knobbies truly deserving of a separate species code or are they simply a differing colour variation from a specific area.. ?

I dont know why they would not have a difrerent code?

Can any other Pilbarensis keepers tell me how they have recorded theirs?

So what about Occidentalis? are they also known under Levis levis?

Sounds to me like NPWS need to update their records and give them their own code.

Not sure about nsw but over here they are all classified under the Nephrurus Levis Levis species.

They are not a seperate species, so just name them N. levis and leave the pilbarensis off.

Yup as far as NPWS are concerned N.l.levis, occidentalis and pilbariensis all go under the N.levis.
Have had occis, pilbs and levis all under that title
