Hey All

Are there any Vets that Specialise in Herps in the South Brisbane area? I have a Palmerston Jungle Python and he has regurgetated his last two feeds. He was fine up until last week. I've had him out to see if I can notice anything but I can't (not an expert though)

His temps are all fine. We've had some odd weather in Brisbane (hot one night and quite cool the next) could this be an issue as well? He's been feeding on Pinkie rats.

Any help would be great as Im getting worried about him now.

Ben

31-32 Degrees and around 27 in the cooler end.

He's fed fine up until last week when I gave him a rat and he brought it back up a few days later.

I'd try to put the basking spot up to about 34-35.

Up the temp - get a higher wattage heat matt and run it on a thermostat (Microclimate B2)
Ok you have a heat globe too? What wattage is it?

why don't you try wiki, at the top of this page. there might be one close to you,
cheers and good luck.:)

I also had this happen - in the first case is was a tummy bug (vet and antibiotics fix that) and the second case it was the temps won't high enough.

Triple check your temperatures to make sure they are what you believe they are, especially during the coldest part of the night.

Could it be a bad batch of rats? Where did you purchase them from? I would not use them again for the time being, at least until you can rule it out.

Is there anything I could do to warm it up a bit for the time being? just until I get a hotter matt.

I bought the rats of a breeder from here.

I've given him a few from this batch and they seem to be fine until now.

You can put a blanket or something similar over the cage to help keep the heat in. If you haven't already, i'd suggest putting a thick, well insulated hide right above the heat mat. This will trap the hot air in the hide as it rises from underneath, creating a hot spot for your snake to hide in and keep warm.

Do as MrBredli tells you and don't stress to much get a heat matt tomorrow and see how it go's.
Try to feed it again in a couple of days and it the problem is still there see your vet.
