Just wondering how often Redeyed Tree Frogs eat? I've had mine for a few days and he's only eaten one baby cricket. Do they not eat much out in the wild?

ask tennille, she has a lot of knowledge of frogs.

It should be eating more than that, do you have it heated? Red eyes are a little harder to care for than green tree's, you need to mist them daily and keep them warm (but not hot). Post a pic of the enclosure.

Just seen your other thread, try a heat mat under the tub. I keep mine heated in Sydney. They are a little particular about temps. Also they don't eat huge amounts like other frogs and mostly eat at night. He may be eating and your not seeing him do so?? Looks like a nice frog though.

jess,is the substate a sort of moss?
if it is you must make sure the froglet dosnt accidently eat some when jumping on a cricket or it will get gut impaction and die.
i used moss for young frogs a few years ago and a few died because they ate it.now with youngsters i use paper or water as substrate.
