information on geckos

i've been hooked on the marbled velvet gecko for some time but i want to get my pythons first then maybe get some geckos can you house a male and female together all the time and are geckos good to hold my sister owns marbled geckos and she can't handle them at all they sqeal like a pig. and can you use soil from outside and just spread it onto a baking tray and bake it in the oven to get rid of the prasites

instar there not like the marbled gecko the marbled gecko stays small where the marbled velvet gecko grows to 20cm i have got a caresheet of them already heres a pic http://images.zacharoo.com/animals/gecko/gecko.html

Instar's link says they grow up to 8 inches... which is almost exactly 20 cm Perhaps they sometimes have slightly different names overseas.

ok the marbled geckos scientific name is christinus mamoratus and the marbled velvet gecko is oedura marmorata
