Hey everyone, I'd like to apologise in advance if this is written poorly. I'm beyond devastated.
Today I got a call from my mum saying that Spud, my dog, had died. Apparently he had been "sick" and my grandmother was trying to nurse him, but when he didn't improve my grandmother and grandfather took him to the vet but didn't get there in time before he passed away.
The reason my grandmother didn't take him straight away is because she thought the dog was having an epileptic fit, which his mother suffered from, and his sister currently suffers from.
I feel so horrible right now. The last time I was up there, I didn't spend much time at home, and when I was leaving I popped in and gave him a pat. I apologised for not walking him on my trip and promised him I'd give him a walk when I saw him next, but I didn't get the chance.
He was such a loving and caring dog, and he was a tough little bugger, too. Last year I sold my commodore to get him some dental work done, so I guess the last 12 months of his life were more comfortable, that's good I guess. It's still surreal and I've been distraught all day. He was only 10, his mum was 16 and he was in great health, so I am so upset... I took solace in the fact that his mother had a great LONG life and died peacefully, but it's tearing me up thinking about spud.
He had so much character and I have a few stories about him that I might post later on if anyone cares, I even was there for his birth. Sorry for the long post and the questions mixed in with the other stuff, I just want to know what happened to my little dude.
Here's a pic of him and I last year, it's a photo of a photo so it's not great. It was before I got his mouth fixed up, so he wasn't feeling too well and doesn't look too happy, but he was the happiest dog out.
R.I.P Spud, I love you so much mate. I'd do anything to have you back.
