i currently have my first python, a 3 month old spotted python and i am feeding him mice, i got told i will need to feed him rats eventually is that true or can i just feed mice ( currently breeding them )

you can still use mice its just that when the snake gets bigger it will probably need a couple of mice each feed to satisfy it :)
hope this helps

From what I believe and have been told. Rats are more nutritious also.

Good luck either way :)

It depends like it would be more nutrients to be feeding hopper mice then feeding pinkie rats because the more formed the rat or mice the more healthier so while your snake is small you can feed it mice then you can move onto rats
