Hey All

I live in Ipswich in South East Queensland - it gets a few degrees hotter here in summer in brisbane and a few degrees cooler than brisbane in winter. I was wondering - are there any monitor species that could survive our climate outdoors without any supplied heating? It can get to over 40C in summer but I'm guessing that wouldnt' be a problem for most Varanus sp. However would temps getting down to below zero exclude me from keeping them all outdoors? And if there are any species which could tolerate these temps, would any of these be happy in a 1800mm L x 900mm W x 900mm H enclosure?

Cheers,
Andrew

Hey mate,

That's only a small enclosure. You could run something like Varanus tristis in there, or young Lacies, but a pair of adult Lacies really need something double that size. You could also run some Sandies too.
