It's generally much easier to get a good thermal gradient with a cage that's wider rather than too high. Your cage will get very cold at the bottom at this time of year, and if the snake gets too cold down there may lose interest in climbing up to the heated part. Having the top fully perforated will also let too much heat out - you should cover at least most of it so that the heat remains trapped. Just some thoughts.

Wider is better than taller (for the snake), with the heat source/s at one end to give you a good gradient, and unless you're in a very warm part of Oz, it's better to have ventilation in the back or sides of your cages. What looks appealing to you may not work very well for your reptile.

Jamie.

I agree and another point to add to that is you are putting a Bredli in it and they are mostly terrestrial.Apart from that it looks really good you did a good job :D

Great enclosure and nice bredli too!

How about putting the heat light directly over the top drawer to heat that hiding place and the left side of the cupboard, then it won't have to climb to get warm. Just a suggestion.

Very nice work mate!

You'd probably have better results covering the holes in the pegboard with cardboard or even masonite as opposed to newspaper. That's going to be one happy Bredli, all she needs is a boy now!

Heat mat in the bottom would solve any problems of it being too cold, although as it is it would be great for diamonds
