Do not do this... They will live for some time because the brain is still in tact. The most humane method for killing a snake is by destroying the brain with blunt force (ie, swift hammer blow to the skull).

If u haven't got guts to do it like see the whole thing there other way is to put piece of cloth over it head or wrap the whole snake then strike the hammer as fast on the head u can thats way u dont have to see what just happen in front of u hope that's helps its hard to do the right thing :/

Thanks Everyone for your opinions , I took it this afternoon to the vet and they euthenised it for me . (at no cost)
