Hello all,
I am interested in knowing the success of breeding colubrids and elapids in captivity?
I have noticed that there is a lack of these two breeds being advertised for sale. ( tell me if I am wrong )
so the questions are how easy is it to breed the two?
And how regular are they breed? (is there just no money in it)

Cheers yogi

No more difficult to breed than pythons at the end of the day.

Simply not many(legal) keepers of colubrids in this country considering there are only 11 native species and only 5 are able to be legally kept in most states.
There are plenty of BHP's and Woma's for sale everywhere.

Pythons are just more commonly kept in Australia...

Gold phase and Blue phase green tree snakes would be worth breeding
Same with slatey greys
All of those used to bring reliable money

another under rated one is keelback
lots of colour variation and pretty cool snakes
dont know their cash value though

with elapids its a very different market
only something special will get good money
