Hey all, I'm getting a Children's Python soon. I sent away my application for the licence last week and got a phonecall today from the EPA saying that my residential address was different from the address where I planned on keeping the python.
Basically, I live in a unit/apartment in town - but I spend a LOT of time at my parent's place. My dad also has set up heating/lighting and all that cool stuff for an enclosure for the python at their place... so keeping the python at my parents place (especially with the winter months) would be best.
Anyhow, I told the EPA guy to register the python at my unit address. (otherwise they'd reject my application). Technically I could keep the python at the unit, but what are the consequences of having the reptile elsewhere other than the registered place of keeping (ie: parent's place)? Are there massive fines? Do you just get a slap on the wrist? Will the EPA even bother checking up on one single Children's python?
I'm pretty sure they wont do a surprise!-surprise! visit out of the blue on me (not like I'd be home anyway)... :?
I just want what's best for the little fella... but yeah, I'm curious as to know why they wouldn't let someone have two places, and what the consequences of going ahead and keeping it at my folk's place may incur.
Or am I just worrying too much?
