HI all,

Definately a Tiger Snake Notechis scutatus, I have caught them in Wilson's Prom NP (with permits) along with Lowland Copperheads Austrelaps superbus and White Lipped Snakes Drysdalia coronoides.

Cheers,
Scott Eipper

Baz, why were you catching tiger snakes in a National Park?
I used to camp at tidal river regularly, years ago, and i have caught them, and copperheads in the camping ground and moved them away from other campers.
Also on the tracks around the prom i have seen them but not caught them.
I should have said ive "seen' a few that share the same unbanded, coppery look..
Yeah peter, i never took any out of park.

Looking at it closely, I would have to say that it looks like a Tiger. Copperhead? Close, Brown? No.

A better pic would have been good. But even still, a safe distance is better. :)

I also think Tiger - I can't see any white markings on the lip generally associated with Copperheads.

...either way, the result to you 'what would happen if you got bitten' question is the same ;)
