snake run over...what to do?

I was just driving home from work and saw a 5foot coastal carpet crossing the road. I quickly pulled over to check him out, as i startled him he turn and looked at me and I noticed blood around his mouth. Obviously the car in front of me had run over him. I was totally unsure what to do so I grabbed a stick and moved him off the bike path and away from the road. Do you think he will survive and what should I have done? if there is anyone online around rochedale in brisbane that thinks they can do anything, im happy to meet you there to see if we can find him.

You did the right thing, as for some strange reason it is illegal actually rehabilitate wild reptile.

I think you are able to take injured wildlife to the vets for treatment and they can get in touch with a wildlife carer. A guy called Graham on here "Snakerelocation" relocates snakes and is a wildlife carer, he lives at Crestmead and has posted one of my threads about an injured blue tongue.
