Hi everyone!

I bought my first snake just over a year ago. He’s 630g and ~1.5m long.

He was sold to me as a Centralian Carpet Python (Morelia Bredli) with potential Hypo genes, but as he’s grown, I’ve gotten very confused with his markings. I posted it in a facebook herp group, and so far the responses seem to be that he’s actually a Caramel Coastal.

Can anyone confirm? I just want to make sure I’m tailoring to species appropriates needs (a recent vet check up did say he’s perfectly healthy though!).

Photos of him are as a hatchling and today! I also honestly don’t care about how he might or might not look, I think he’s beautiful either way 😂 I just want to make sure I’m taking care of him correctly, especially since we we’re in the process of building his forever home!

Looks like a locality cross/mudblood. Probably not pure anything, but just maybe a pure Coastal (very unlikely to be locality pure, even if subspecific pure). Definitely not a bredli, though it may have some bredli blood in the mix.

Nice looking snake. Just treat it like a typical Carpet and it will thrive. Do what you'd do for a pure Coastal and you'll be giving it what it wants.

Looks like a trueblue (Rob McLeod) hypo coastal to me

I imagine buyer bought it as a hypo coastal and saw that hypo bredli were the norm and went “oh it’s a bredli” (even though it doesn’t resemble a bredli in the slightest)
