Hello hello,

We have just bought first hatchling (spotted python), done a bit of research and set up a click clack for it. The seller said it hasn't been handled much but should be easy to tame it after a few weeks. It's feeding/shedding well... BUT just wondering if overly feisty/biting/jumpy behaviour is normal at first? It sure is a fire cracker (feel sorry for the little one cause it's obviously terrified). Is it just a matter of leaving it to settle/keep warm /and feeding for a few weeks before handling?

Any advice on behaviour would be awesome.

Cheers,
Fi

My stimsons were very jumpy for their first year and now are fine, from what I have seen others post that seems normal.

yes let it settle in for a week or 2 then handle it for about 5 mins every couple of days. as it settles you can then handle for ten min then 15 work your way up slowly till he is comfortable.

^^^^^ +1+1 As above, my 2 spotty hatchlings were very agitated for the 1st couple of months but with gentle handling every other evening (most active evenings) they are both handling very well now..................................Ron
