ok the house across the road from us has just been robbed...this is slight paranoia speaking but im really worried about our snake! our security is pretty much non-existent apart from the great dane around the side so jules would be pretty damn easy to steal. he is my little poppet i would DIE if he was stolen so im wondering if it would bother him much if i take him to work with me in his hessian bag until we move out on the 15/2? he ate on sat night so i guess i would have to wait a few more days to let him digest but i really dont wanna risk him...would he be stressed out too much over that? or would it be better to take his little critter cage he used to live in to work cos it still has the heat mat attached? that cage is only 33cm wide x 20cm deep and 21cm high and jules is now 80cm...
any help would be much appreciated cos im really worried about him

its just that work is only a 2 min drive away and a fair few people know i have a snake in my house...if its a bad idea i wont do it - thanx for the help

The risk of the snake getting stressed out and getting a RI is far greater than you getting robbed!

I dont let my neighbours even know i have reptiles for this reason, its a pain making sure they are not about and sneaking them out on the back lawn, but if they dont know i have any they dont get ideas! join the paranoia club! Jules will be fine, just dont "exhibit " him outside till you move. if burgulars are watching houss in your street [they often dont just "do" one house once, then you lessen the chances by staying low key. Dont worry!

Have the snake microchipped.
When you move into your new place do a security audit, most (but not all) thevies are fairly lazy and stupid. In particular make sure no windows can be easily opened.
Also africa seems to be hinting something.

Me hint something?? Good Lord, never, no not me But if you do give in to your paranoia Zoe I would be prepared to hold him for you for a week or two Don't know about visiting every day though, my missus might think there was something going on

Hell be fine Zoe, relax. Its a bit scarey when a house gets burgled in your own street i know [3 years ago an old lady was murdered in my street!] but keep the place locked up, ask a trusted neighbour to watch the place while your at work and you'll be ok.

the new place has an alarm which is good...but we have 2 cats which is bad...cos they will set it off all day lol. hopefully we might be able to set the alarm for just the snake room then we can close the door to the cats.

would u really chip him? do many people do that?

afro my man is telling me to get over it so i'll pop a pill and leave jules here for now lol. but still...only 2 weeks til i invite myself over to see ur herps! oh and you i suppose :wink:
