Just got back from a music festival, and my mum told me that my Green Tree Frog has been refusing food. I took a look and noticed his back has strange markings/almost growth kinda things, I'm worried it is a bacterial or fungal infection.

I called the vet, but being a public holiday it was closed. Is there anything I should do while waiting for the vet clinic to open tomorrow?

Sorry my internet is slow, I was on my phone because it's faster

They look like a burn or a scratch or something along those lines.

I doubt it's a burn, there's nothing in the tank for him to burn himself on.
He's not eating and seems sluggish, and more stressed when handled, spends a lot of his time in or near the water (more than usual that is), which to me would indicate something more disease oriented

they look like an abcess of some kind is he pinkish or reddish anywhere around his legs or underside? could it jus be an abrassion or is it a lump? like could he have got stuck and rubbed that bit off?

I am at a loss... Whatever they are I just hope he can hold out 'til the vet appointment :\

Thanks for that info, I can't find anything that looks similar, I might give them a call.

The lump type things seem to be growing as well and I am freaking out a little bit, does anyone know if there is anything I can do to help him before the vet appointment is made?

what temps are his tank at when was the last time you cleaned his enclosure?

Temperature is roughly 20 degrees, and I clean the tank once a month (it's quite a decent sized tank)

Turns out it is actually on his face as well, he is having trouble opening his eye due to a browny almost rotten looking patch.
Why oh why does this have to happen on a public holiday...

it looks like a fungal infection,
DEFINETLY SEPERATE IT IF IT IS WITH OTHER FROGS!
i've been in contact with the frog hospital in cairns via email,
do you have any pics of your enclosure, would be a good help
do you use live plants?
and where are you located, i south you should be using heating!
regards,
jake

p.s ver thing goes wrong on public holidays, why do we have them anyway!

correction: everything- lol

I have taken him to an emergency vet and was given a topical cream used for burns (but has anti fungal properties), and some diluted Baytril. The woman wasn't sure so I am going to call the reptile specialist in Frankston tomorrow.

The tank has been cleaned and my GTF has been separated. He is still struggling a little.

Thanks for all of your help and I will update later

Just an update...

I took him to Dr. Shane Simpson and he said that it is a bacterial infection and gave me some injectable antibiotics on top of the stuff I was already using. I am currently waiting on the results to see which antibiotic would be most suitable, but I am not hopeful.

Here is a photo of my little guy at the vets yesterday...

I feel terrible because I know he is suffering and there is essentially nothing significant that I can do...
