can anyone tell me about the laws in Australia against "morphs" cross bred snakes. I have been told by a retail reptile shop that they are illegal here, pity because the americans have it all!

Morphs are not illegal in any State, cross breeding some species is illegal in some States but it is a little complicated because although it is strictly speaking illegal in Queensland for example it wouldn't be illegal to cross say a Jungle with a Coastal as they are treated as the same species. In NSW it isn't illegal and the offspring are given a new code number. So as you see it isn't a yes/no type of answer.
