For something a bit different try Rodrigo y Gabriela, for a laugh Flight of the Conchords.

they are a melbourne band but are on their way to big things. they're playing melbourne bdo but i see you're in sydney but they tour up there a lot too so check them out. they're a funky metal type band.

has any one seen lump, the singer (skennie) used to be the singer in the poor.
they have tour melbourne, sydney, brissy, gold coast where they are based, they are awsome they even played at the big day out on the gold coast.
also another good local band is sunk lotto..............there album is out in most music shops

check out annihilation by the hands of god by roaddunner united. I'm loving it. The riffs are amazing and the 2nd solo is pretty good in my books. Pretty brutal but an amazing song. Also any i killed the prom queen, parkway drive, bury your dead or some coal chamber

i think we have made our point. They make their music to be popular. Metal is made to be different and have alot stronger messages then pop/rock crap which is just made to please the masses.
