i have had about enough of my neibours rooster going nuts every morning , we are not allowed roosters in melbourne but this guy loves it to death .i dont know if i should rat him in to the epa or just put it out of my misery.i cant believe no one else has complained about it.... has anyone else had any issues with a neibours annoying pet.

we had 4 roosters not long ago, we got them as 1 day old chicks and they grew into annoying roosters!
after 3 days of them crowing we moved them on....

Its not the EPA you'll have to contact if you want to complain its your local council..... well here in SA it is anyway....

I found a rooster once, I put it in my mates overgrown backyard without him knowing, it lived there for a few weeks untill he could catch it as he wasn't happy at waking up at dawn every morning, he rang me up to tell me about it, I'm still laughing about it :)

Why don't you just talk to the neighbour instead of going to extremes?

I have a neighbour and their dogs used to bark for hours on end into the night.

Yeah my neighbour had a rooster.Talked to him about it and he gave it to his brother.Though i was seriously thinking about taking out the 243.

lol herpieboy, your mate must hate u

my neighbours recently got some peacocks, now i have grown up with roosters so i know how annoying they are. they have nothing on peacocks!!!!
every morning at sunrise the bloody peacocks will make noises (they HONK like a goose, make a cat like crying noise as well as some others) right outside my bedroom window. if they are not waking the whole town up by screaming, then they are standing in the middle of the road so that each car that goes past toots it's horn at them.
one day i let my dog out to try and scare them away, he chased them and the damn birds made a panicked WHOOP WHOOOP WHOOOP WHOOP noise like a cross between a siren and Zoidberg from futurama.
they will walk around our house crapping on the verandah (big poo too), and have even broken our bird feeder on occasion.

if anybody knows of a good recipe for peacock pm me. i need to destroy some eveidence

Before you do any reporting, be sure to check your council by-laws very closely. Make sure you don't have more reptiles than are allowed - some councils do impose maximums in built up areas.

Unfortunately, mate, peacock is regarded as very bland and tough. The Roman and medieval European elites used to eat it with all the feathers put back into the carcass after being plucked and cooked. It looked fantastic and tasted awful.

Our neighbours have a cockatoo that likes to scream it's lungs out every morning

.243 Vs Chicken maybe a bit of overkill me thinks. Like killing a fly with a shotgun.

Cool to watch none the less;)

Tell him how much more he'd love it if it was stuffed with black pudding, rosemary, hazelnuts, onions, garlic and mushrooms and wrapped in pork caul.

95 percent of people are reasonable when it comes to noise and if they are annoying other people.
I personally would go and speak to them in a civilised manner first.

Hahahaha thats a classic Jas.

I bet he keeps his lawn short now.

have a friendly chit chat with the neighbour and if they are not reasonable there is always plan B

if your neighbour doesn't respond well to your comments look at it as a free feed for one your pets, coastal or scrubby will knock it down then place its remains on the doorstep.
