Gave my adult coastal a couple of quail a few hours ago, since then she has been soaking in her water bowl. Every ten minutes or so she will change her position.

Several times I've seen one of my jungles soak his head in his water bowl after getting blood all over it!

Just curious, well, apart from the obvious reason - mites (which there are none), what else could motivate this behavior??

Mine also purposely do that when they get dirty for whatever reason, I find it fascinating :p

What temps are your cages?Just a thought they might be doing it because the water is warmer than they have access to?

32 - 26 degrees

I changed her water not long before I fed her. So the water temp would be bout 22 degrees I'm guessing.

My Bredli neva used to but since i put him in new enclosure with a bigger bowl he is in there all the time.

my 6ft carpet python has been soaking itself in its water for the last 2weeks... i was wondering if there was sumthing wrong with her, but has been pretty warm up here...

I've always provided a bowl big enough to soak in. I have a darwin that is in there every few days. But, thats pretty typical for darwins....

my snakes do it when they get guts on them. it's cute when they wash themselves
