Hey so today my mates brother tells me of his friend who has this cool albino snake but off license. I thought maybe just to lazy to go through with it and was an aussie snake still. So he tries to describe it to me and being from America I think it sounds more like some US snakes then Oz ones. So I ask for a picture to see and he goes on facebook and sure enough it is an albino corn.

So he tells me he might get one and that they are really really easy to get. My question is I know there are jags and gtp from out of Australia but I thought that would be it cause it is much harder to prove they are from other spots. So how many foreign snakes such as thecorn snake are here and how easy are they to get?

Thanks,
Zack

LOL,
they are illegal in all states with big fines.
I think they are more of an issue than all the recent hype about hybrids of native species!
j

I dont no how many different species are out there, but i can tell you that, their is alot of illegals out there,But stay away from them, the less pll buy, hopefully the less breeders will breed them..

there are alot here and alot of people breeding em, there were rumors a while ago that they can be found in some paddocks in werribee from people dumping em. when ever there have been seizures of exotics most of the time there is at least 1 corn in the collection, balls and burmese arent too rare in the seized animals either

Ya I know they are illegal Im saying he said they are sooooo easy to get and he knows a few people with them. Im asking how many foreign snakes are here I didnt think that there were that many, and yes they are a much bigger problem then hybrids. Or atleast I think so.

Yeah there here and I have heard of wild populations around sydney.

There are self sustaining populations of North American snakes in Australia? I haven't heard of any feral colonies of Australian reptiles in the U.S. The injustice of it all, I'll be in contact with the U.N. about this!!

Yes they are abundent, heck just post on petlink for a corn and you will get a price list.
Ball pythons were harder to get though.

I'll stick with my spotted mac, but they are so many exotics out there

Hell i'll take a 50usd normal ball python over a 10k gtp anyday

I met a guy in Bathurst before I moved from the dump who had quite a few corn snakes yet he was admired around town as a commited conservationist & commited to Aus snakes!!! Shame nobody saw him as just another ******** breeding foriegn species:x Annoying for those of us doing the right thing, I would LOVE someTarantulas from O/S but its ILLEGAL so I dont bother risking my legal collection by having something like that.

I remember a guy in Vic who had a big green iguana... They're out there that's for sure. But seriously what sort of dork would show peolpe and risk the fines.. or possible jail! Come to think of it what sort of people would keep them full stop and risk it all.. You'll never get a licence again!

there sold as very colourful childrens LOL see there is loopholes in the system

Pretty sure the inspectors who get tipped off or do random inspections know the difference ;) Negligence is no excuse in a court of law, so no use saying I didn't know it was a komodo dragon... It was sold to me as a beardie!

Hehe, i love it when people brag about corns to me. I ask to see them sometime, and the dumb *** invite me over. Nice and simple to find a address.
They brag about them like they do about their super killer pitbulls and the massive weed plantations theye grown in the past. Hahahahahaha

It is worth noting that the departments also check out the forums such as this one ;)

I know of people that have corns, ball pythons and burmese and it totally annoys me as these people dont even hold a license, how do you go about dobbing these scum buckets in??? One of these people knows my partner and is advertising pythons for sale on face book, I take a look at her pics and her sons are holding burmese and ball pythons so I get my mrs to ask her what she has for sale, she has hypo bredli and others which if we want to know about we have to call her!! Im thinking of calling and asking where she lives then letting the authorities know!!

So " your thinking about calling and letting the authorities know " .
You say that it totally annoys you , well if it piss's you off so much , DO IT !
Why don't you do it , dont big note yourself on here and not do it !.

How many tough people get on here , bragging about how much they loves reptiles , and in the same breathe , tell us they know people with corn's / balls ? .

That annoys me more then the people breeding these snakes .
It's called " being a hypocrite " .

mate, if u really want one, it couldnt be too hard to obtain. seeing as the government is in on the import and export of foreign and native snakes/ wildlife.
