Hey guys so i've had my Jungle hatchy for a little of over a week now. And she is abit feisty but i've decided I will attempt to calm her down. This was my first handle with her. Sorry for the bad pics I was a little nervous, but when my confidence grows i'll be able to put a few more close up ones on here.

Anyway her name is Francesca and well before he shed a couple of days ago she had really dark green colours and I thought ah she's not going to be one of those bright Jungles, which I was fine with. But you can really see how much yellow is starting to appear

She is pretty cool mate, just keep at her gently and you will be surprised at how nicely she will calm down.

very pretty mate!

take the gloves off you skirt! she is a lil baby!! A kitten would mash you up more than she ever could at that age!!! :p

edit: what is with the keyboard test in your post lol?

She has great colour, she'll calm down in time, each handle will make a difference. :)

Yeah im not sure what happened there, I don't know how to get rid of it either

In saying that I did the same thing with my first. You'll see when you get tagged you'll wonder what the fuss was about. Good luck

Yes I got rid of all that weird stuff, I had to change a few settings, I think cos im on mac it went all spazz. And yeah I will get rid of the gloves, but cos it was my first handling, I didn't want to flinch or anything and hurt her

when i first handled my snake i was scared then i got tagged and realised that the fear of the bite is way worse then the acuall bite itself

She just had her first feed!!! :D. I thawed out a fuzzy for 2 and a half hours, then used a hair dryer to get it nice and warm and shee took it no problems. Once she finishes off her fuzzy's I should probably started moving her up to weaners.

Also witht he warming up of the prey, is the hair dryer a good way to go, or is there a better method?

In a bucket of water (hot - straight from the tap). This should thaw and warm the food item at the same time.

A note on the handling. Snakes are very smell driven. If you get her used to the glove (that glove looks like it has some dirt, etc etc on it. ie lots of different smells) you are then setting yourself up to "retraining" her to get used to the smell of your bare hand when you are ready for that. Its just another process you will have to do. In the end she might not even care, but i have heard of this happening.

For me, i would rather be tagged by a little cutie like that, instead of the same cutie at 2 years old :p IMO the sooner you get bit, the sooner everything will become much less stressful for you and the snakey! Sounds weird but this has held true for myself, family and friends :D Its also not uncommon for snakes to be little puppies with their owner, but turn into demons when others try to handle.

Oh brilliant, so letting it thaw out in hot water does bring the mouse up to a good temp. I just wasn't sure on it and thought I'll blast it with the hair dryer just to be sure.

And yes I think I will definitely be loosing the glove, im sure you guys are right I mean the bite probably is nothing compared to what I think it'll be

2 1/2 hours is a bit much only takes like 5 minutes, if that to thaw a little fussy mouse. I usually feel to see if the stomach is squishy and then Leave for a little longer and it's right to go

Your wrist tattoo would have hurt more than a bite from that little shoe lace :)
