Amphisbaenians?

Has anyone actually seen an Amphisbaenian in person? Also, are there any books in Australia solely about these unusual creatures?
I have found very little reliable information online and I have become interested in them. From what I have learnt they are considered members of the Order Squamata but do not directly appear to be lizard related, and are primarily found in the middle east. I hardly ever hear about Tuataras when people refer to "all" reptile groups, and never hear of Amphisbaenians.

a book i have says there are 4 trpes of reptiles
* Snakes & lizards
* Crocodilian
* Turtles
* Tuataras

Doesn't say anything about Amphisbaenians.

Are they sortta like Caecillians? I'm pretty sure I've seen a Caecillian.
Caecillians are amphibians I think.

THats how unknown there supposed to be. Type in Amphisbaenians and you get a few hits, but nothing fully scientific looking like Im after.

At a guess I would say that blind snakes occupy the ecological niche in Oz.
