Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of collecting everything to fit out a new 4x2x2 enclosure for my yearling BHP (will upgrade size in a year or so and use this current tank to house a Woma in the future)

Just wondering if anyone uses the light emitting basking lamps for pythons. I only heat my snakes during daylight periods so night heat isn't necessary. I am planning to have a large piece of slate glued onto something to raise it up under the heat lamp so it acts as a good heat retainer and to give my BHP access.

I am thinking of the sort of sun glo bulbs etc as I figured it was more natural for the snake to associate heat with the sun or in this case light. Anyone else run like this?

Regards,
Michael

I use the 40w or 60w spot globes from the supermarket,They're only a couple of bucks ea.

Yes, but it depends on the species and circumstances.
Diamonds kept indoors seem to appreciate, benefit and even I dare say, enjoy spotlights.
