Aviaries for snakes

ok I am looking at some aviaries to keep my coastals in when they get big but is 12.5mm gap in the mesh going to be escapable?

hubby made me one and he used snake mesh lol pretty sure its designed to keep wild ones 'out' of bird cages but it was great 4 keeping gorgoo in over the warmer mths. View attachment 286515

hey ben, i'd go with something like a thick chicken\snake wire which i am pretty sure is about half inch mesh. definetly make a video on it haha!

No way could a 'big' coastal get through half inch gaps. But depending how 'big' it is, it might be able to get it's nose in and cause scale damage. Measure out 12.5mm and compare it to the snakes head, that should give you an idea of if it can escape.

my mate has his diamonds out in an avairy using 12.5mm square,they wont go through that.

My diamonds are in an aviary that has 12mm wire mesh.

I keep my Diamond in a "chook pen" from Bunnings $180 she loves it. I do bring her in when it gets above 34C to her indoor town house.
