Go to the vet get f10 specially its sec hand enclosure u wouldnt know what been there

If you know the history of the cage, just wash it out with bleach. $2 at Golo!

I understand you just spent a small fortune on a new snake and an exy thermo etc. and are trying to save on eBay, right?

But the cleaning stuff may be far more important... it's the new hatchie's life you're gambling with!

Also, you need to be preparered much earlier in future... eBay delivery is slow, or item(s) may not show up at all, and you're dependent on it?

What are you going to do if (for whatever reason) you run out of food and cannot get more on time? I mean, in reality, snakes can go without food for a long time, but not a hatchie and your supplier of mice/rats may take up to 2+ weeks... the same goes for your heat source.

I'm not being hard on you, but think about it this way;
ie, I've had heat mat melted on me, IRs blowing up during the night and it takes time for pet shop to get more of the right stock in etc.

Try and be more organised and more prepared/disciplined in the future, it will help you out on many other situations in life. ;)

I would go and buy today the F10 from a vet any way (as your back up), even if the other one arrives, it will be used in the future. - and have you sourced a vet that is specialised in reptiles in your area? Not all if them are, do be aware.

Good luck. :)

hatchie snakes dont need food every week , if he ran out it would be fine for a month even 2 , we only feed our hatchy snakes in captivity so much because we want them to have the best possible start to their life and growth

if you compared what we feed snakes in captivity when their a hatchy to what they might eat in the wild i think you would be very surprised
im giving my womas a break from feeding over the next few weeks , theyve already done 2 and ill probably feed them in the next week or 2 not sure , i dont think its natural or all that good to feed them constantly every week with out giving them a bit of a break from it every now and then

benji , best to have cages around any globes in an enclosure , even if the emit no heat , it stops your python from coiling around it and breaking the globe causing them lacerations from the glass

Instead of bleach, maybe try Miltons. It comes in either tablet of liquid form & is used to sterilise baby bottles. it's got a "bleach" odour but totally non-toxic in the sense that you don't need to rinse the baby bottles before filling them w/milk. I've always used it to sterilise reptile & fish tank accessories.

If you're going to be getting the F10 next week (or whenever), why not just house the animal in a click-clack till then ? Why would you take the risk for the sake of a week or so when you will have F10 and can do the job properly ?

From what people have told me bleach will also work. Im not sure if mum will even let my buy F10, i have no job, no money excpet for i have saved up which is all going into actully buying the snake ! Mum and dad have paid the rest of it, i will get pocket money in the next month which will pay for my F10, and besides I think the snake will be too big for a click clack as it is 8 moths old, especially for a month.

My 8 month old is still in a click-clack. Well actually, it's an Exo Terra Faunarium, but still a click-clack to me.

Rob_N_Son could send me a picture of it ? And yeaah, but i have a good enclosure for it already, just needs a clean!! But thanks anyway !!

Here is a pic. She'll grow out of it soon, but it's doing her fine for now. I think it is the large size.

The plastic lid is what I feed them on, and she has also left me a nice little present in the corner. :)

Yeah, it's an iPhone pic, pretty poor quality.

Wild Crystal. I've found it OK so far. Cleaning is a breeze - Just dab some absorbent paper on the mess and it pretty much comes straight up.

Once I have her in her permanent enclosure if I choose to keep them same (kind of) substrate I will layer it a lot thicker than what is there.

i just use BAM AND THE DIRT IS GONE, works wonders

The dirt is the least of your problems, though.
