I love the Red Belly Blacks too :) you could always post some pics in here ;) I would love to see them. I would really love to keep Collette's and RBB's(license of course) I do think I need to keep the non ven's for quite awhile first though :)

Here you go Miss Moon. I was just reading Sarah's post about her woma; this guy used to wiggle his tail tip (very woma-like) when food was about and chow down on his tail for 30secs if I was a bit slow with the feeding:)! Are you looking at getting a Collett's? Very nice elapidsIMO.

They are stunning :) I want to get my appropriate license and my dream snake is a Colette(dont tell my Coastal's lol they think they are) I love RBB'S too. I still need experience in keeping/handling reptiles, but that is my goal :) (well herp goal ;) )

RBB's are great, both are generally very tolerant of handling mistakes and hardy captives too. You won't be dissapointed in either, when you feel the time is right for you.

Here's a few of my RBB's (apologies to those who have seen them already). Oh, and another Colletts:)!

Both are great snakes!! Both docile breeds also and as IV stated, tolerable of mistakes :D spotted blacks and tigers make nice pets also.

Pretty cool elapids i reckon!

Not really, Crystal, more chance of a bite from your Jungle than any RBB/ Colletts IMO. Everyone knows elapids are smarter than your average Jungle:)!

Juvenile Colletts and Mum.

why is it from my point elapids seem calmer or is it still luck of the draw as i dont think it's as easy as holding it and see if it likes it.

If you get them as hatchies then elapids can and quite often are more relaxed and forgiving than pythons. i dont know why but they are more tolerable as long as there well fed and handled regularly even tigers can be free handled and this year im trying to tame inland tai enough to free handle. They should react similar to colletts and rbb as they seem as docile in tank

they are gorgeous, thanks for posting the pics :) such beautiful colouring

You are welcome and I have to admit they are one of my favourite snakes too. Not that i would recommend freehandling ANY venomous snake but mum was the most placid layed back snake and was easy to handle, oh and its one of her offspring in my avatar too :)
