Hi all,

I will soon be getting my first Coastal. Not my first snake--have a bunch of pythons and boas in the USA. A herper for many years. Carpets included.

What are you guys feeding half-year-old Coastals? To me, the recommedations I've seen are pretty small prey items for a snake that can take large meals. Have read this is because they have small necks. Is there an issue?

Six months old.

Let me know, thanks!

Lol no. My Darwin has thin neck but she stretches ALOT. Snake skin is made to be elastic so they can handle big meals.

Feed it food that's about the same size, maybe a little bigger than the thickest part of the animal. Or 15% of the body weight.

Not too sure on coastals, but 6 months... maybe weanling rats or fuzzy rats?

fuzzy rats would be pretty good size up till about 12 months then on to weaners...

Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting her in a couple weeks.
