Heat Mat Help

Hey guys, I purchased a 7 watt Reptile One Heat Mat, and this may sound stupid, but how do I use it? Like do I put it under the enclosure or in the enclosure. I have a glass Exo Terra tank by the way. I'm really sorry but the instructions, to me, are just not clear enough... Thanks

What sort of animal is it for?
Generally they go under the tank, but its a good idea to have some air flow too and a thermostat to stop the mat burning. Also you cant have much substrate as the animal needs the be able to access the heat via belly transfer.
