You can? Oh I didnt know that...I thought it was illegal everwhere...Sorry!

true there are some nice exotics around the world but there better of kept overseas, Australia is pritty much disease free and we want to keep it that way, dont risk stuffing up your life for a bloody exotic...... get a mertens water monitor there cooler

We have alot of reptiles we can keep over here...Corns arent too much different, they are just so popular because of their colour variety and that they're timid....But we have heaps of thos "colour varieties" and Timid snakes...Do some research.

what do you mean do some research on what corn snakes?, no they are not different to our scales, forked tongue, no ears etc etc but their disease are much diferent....dont get me wrong their a cool snake I have handled and breed plenty but not to be brought into private australian collection, you here the problem people have keeping their childrens python from escaping its the same with corns

I have and continue to do so, at the moment I been working on angle headed dragons reproduction and biology its been going for 3 years know and will be published early next year... what research are you doing, I have been researching australian reptiles for the last 23 years now

I think you misunderstood my post....I suggested for Ben D to do some research, lol :)

How do you know this person didn't get a corn from a petshop? Because it illegal, since when did that stop anyone.

I too was offered corn snakes and boas recently i knew they couldnt be kept on the nsw licence but wasnt sure if they could be kept on a special permit, but putting my situation to the APS members i got the imformation i needed to know ... thanks guys...my post was "american snakes in australia" for those who didnt get to read it....

AUSTRALIAN REPTILES KICK **** NOTHING ELSE COMPARES

thats the spirit frodo go australian........"frodo dont forget to throw the ring in the fire"

belinda, i don't want to start an arguement but when you said aussie snakes come in same colour phases as corns you are definately wrong. Ever seem a het water pyhton. What about a bright red and striped olive?? Maybe you need to do some research for your self. I don't think its right for you to tell people to do some reasearch when you assumed it is illegal to sell reptiles in petshops throughout australia.

cant wait till shops are selling herps in NSW though.By the way Frodo I'm from Gymea(but now out west)reckon Sutho's the only shire worth living in if your in Syd.

It seems a pity that welshmen can't buy reptiles in stores. I know of three specialist stores here in SA and they are great. Surprisingly, the prices are not bad either, I missed buying a beautiful yearling female bredli (about a meter) for $450.
Specialist reptile stores make a good entry point into the hobby.

And Marc i die in the next movie so be nice, and im sure Frodo will throw the ring in to the deep fire of mordor.

Well i heard that npws closed down reptile world in campbelltown for having reptiles on the premises so that pet store should be carefull if what i heard is true
