Don't PANIC!!!!
Mine finally ate a fuzzy tonight, and I think the combination of:

  • slightly warmer temps on the heat mat
  • leaving him alone and undisturbed for 4 days in a row in a quiet dark room
  • approaching him slowly,
  • using the lid to keep him in the click-clack and not exploring
  • I also used a little technique I saw on Youtube where you pinch the skin off the nose of the food item

may have helped.

Whatever it was, he got there.

Now to wait for him to poop....:D

Patience, grasshopper.

Glad you got it worked out....

I had a hatchy that was not eating when I got it. After trying many things, I found what finally worked for him. I had recently acquired an adult MD and fed it a medium rat (the only snake in my house in rats at the time).

When I tried my non-feeder with a fuzzy straight after - he showed his usual interest but no take.....until......He stretched out and smelt the tongs. Once he got a whiff of that smelly musky male rat he slammed the fuzzy mouse as I moved it away.

He has now been feeding since.....I gave him a couple of feeds within a couple of days of each other with the whiffy tongs....He is eating like a champ now!
