I seem to have little black midgie type fruit fly thingies in my pink tongue tub. The animals themselves don't seem to have any bugs, the bugs seem to be attracted to the peat and live in it. I will replace the peat but are they likely to just come back? Any idea what they are?

They eat predominantly meat, few veges (their preference, not mine), so its not like I have rotten veges through the peat.

Thanks

The midges are attracted to warm, moist environments.
I's suggest using a diferent substrate, peat is a pain to clean.
